Andre Bardega

Born in Paris France. Attended Hammersmith College of Art and Building and then Bath Academy of Art, studying painting and print making. Graduated with BA in 1971. Attended post graduate art conservation course at the Tate Gallery and Courtauld Institute (London University) and graduated in 1976. Spent two and half years in Tokyo learning about Japanese painting and restoration. Returned to England in 1980 and moved to Brighton. Continues to do both painting and restoration to the present time.

Taught for one year at Camberwell College of Arts. Exhibited at the Royal Academy summer show, the Pastel Society (Mall Galleries) and several other venues including the Sussex Open. Works are in private collections in UK, Japan, USA and Spain. The pictures are usually concerned with realism through observation. Generally working directly from the models both animate and still life.
